A straight run down the A96 from our Keith showroom. Huntly's granite townhouses and rural steadings ask more of flooring than most, and we specify for that rather than for a brochure.

Local coverage

Huntly is on our doorstep, not on our fringe

Huntly is a short drive from our Keith showroom, so measuring and fitting visits are straightforward to arrange.

Showrooms at 72–76 Mid Street, Keith, AB55 5AF and 5 East Church Street, Buckie, AB56 1EX.

Huntly is one of the closest towns to our Keith showroom, a short, straightforward drive. That has practical consequences: measuring appointments are easy to slot in, and if a job needs a second visit it is not a logistical problem.

We cover the town itself and the farms, cottages and villages around it, the Deveron valley, Drumblade, Gartly, Rhynie and the roads out towards Insch. Rural addresses are ordinary work for us; we are a Moray and Aberdeenshire firm and most of our customers live somewhere a satnav argues with.

For Huntly customers the Keith showroom carries flooring, beds and mattresses and mobility chairs, and the Buckie showroom carries the sofa range. Both are easily reachable in a morning, and we will hold parts of an order so the whole house is done in one hit.

The kinds of property we work in around Huntly

Granite townhouses

Solid, handsome and cold. Substantial rooms, thick walls and floors that benefit enormously from a better underlay rather than a more expensive carpet.

Terraces around the square

Traditional layouts with narrow halls and steep stairs, measured individually, never to a formula.

Farmhouses and converted steadings

Uneven floors, long runs, wide doorways and mud. Hard flooring in the working half, warmth in the living half.

Modern estate housing

Predictable sizes and concrete floors, where accuracy on the quote and a tidy fit are what actually matter.

What Huntly customers ask for most

Hard-wearing hall and boot-room flooring

Vinyl or LVT that copes with farm boots, dogs and a wet Aberdeenshire winter.

Warm bedroom carpet

Granite houses lose heat. Underlay is the cheapest comfort you can buy in Huntly.

Beds and mattresses

Tried in the showroom before you buy, delivered and built in the room, packaging removed.

Sofas and recliners

Chosen at Buckie, delivered to Huntly, placed where you want them.

Why Huntly chooses us

A family business with two showrooms, not a call centre with a catalogue

Close enough to be reliable

A short run from Keith, so dates are realistic and second visits are not a drama.

25 years, family-run

The same family, the same standards, and the owner on the end of the phone.

Rural work is normal for us

Farms, cottages and steadings are the everyday for a Moray and Aberdeenshire firm.

Delivered and installed

Flooring fitted, beds built, furniture placed, waste taken away.

Local conditions

What Huntly houses do to flooring

Huntly is inland, elevated and agricultural. Cold, mud and old solid construction are the three constants, and they decide the specification far more than fashion does.

Cold granite and stone

Granite is superb at holding a building up and hopeless at holding heat in. Ground-floor rooms in Huntly's older stock frequently feel cold even with the heating running.

The most cost-effective fix we sell is a heavier, better-insulating underlay. It warms the room, softens the tread, cuts draughts through boards and extends the carpet's life. Spend there before you spend on a thicker pile.

Agricultural mud and grit

A working household brings the field indoors. Carpet in a Huntly back hall or utility rarely lasts, and pale flooring anywhere near a boot room is optimistic.

We specify vinyl or LVT for those zones, with a proper matting area and sensible door bars, and keep the carpet where it earns its place, living rooms, bedrooms, the good stair.

Uneven floors in older and converted property

Steadings and older cottages rarely have a flat floor. Laying rigid hard flooring over a hollow or a rise is how joints fail and boards lift.

We check levels and, where required, prepare the sub-floor before anything goes down. It adds a step to the job and removes the callback.

Long runs and awkward access

Rural properties often have long corridors, outbuilding conversions and doorways nothing standard was designed for.

We measure access before the order rather than on delivery day, so a sofa that will not go through the door is found out early.

Our process

How a job in Huntly runs, step by step

  1. Step 1

Visit a showroom or call us

See and feel the flooring, lie on the mattress, sit in the chair or the sofa. If you would rather not travel, ring 07377 368826 and we will talk it through and bring samples.

  2. Step 2

    We measure and specify

We measure the rooms properly, check sub-floors, heating and access, and recommend the products that suit the property rather than the ones with the best margin.

  3. Step 3

A written quote for the finished job

One written price covering supply, underlay and fitting, with anything else set out in the quote before you commit.

  4. Step 4

    Delivered and professionally installed

Flooring is fitted, beds are built, furniture is placed and curtains are hung, and the packaging leaves with us.

One supplier for the whole Huntly house

The advantage of a firm that carries flooring, beds, mobility chairs, sofas, curtains and accessories is that a Huntly customer refurbishing more than one room deals with one company. One measure, one quote, one delivery plan, one crew, one person to ring.

That extends to entire properties. We furnish whole homes from empty, new builds, holiday lets, Airbnbs and B&Bs as well as family houses, supplying furniture, beds, flooring, curtains and the finishing touches and installing all of it. The Drumnadrochit project we completed, a seven-bedroom house furnished from empty to finished, is the clearest example of what that looks like at full scale.

For single rooms the same care applies at a smaller scale. Come into the Keith showroom, feel the difference between two underlays with your hand, lie on the mattress rather than reading about it, and let us measure properly before anybody quotes a figure.

Interest-free credit is available on selected furniture and flooring, with 12 months' interest-free credit on full home furnishing projects, terms and conditions apply and credit is subject to status.
